We left our school on Thursday June 1st. I got a ride with Brittany to Nanaimo. We walked on the ferry and when we got to Vancouver we caught a bus. Then, we walked the rest of the way to the Aquarium. It wasn’t time to go in yet so we played on the playground until 9:00PM. Then we put all our stuff in a room. The tour guides brought us to another room and told us about their favourite animals. We were split up into groups. I was in Mrs. Braidwood’s group. We went to look at some of the exhibits. We went behind the scenes to see what they do in the background. We saw different types of jellyfish. Later on, we went to learn ab0ut polar bears, seals, and sea otters. Then we went and had snack in front of the fish tanks. After snacks we went to the wet lab. We saw starfish, sea urchins, and sea anemones. They put a starfish on my head to show how they stick to stuff. It felt wet and the water was dripping down my face, but it was awesome. Then we set up our beds and went to sleep by the beluga tank. It was really awesome getting to sleep by my friends. Then we woke up at 6:45AM and packed up our stuff and had breakfast. Then we got to look around the exhibit on our own.

I got a creative commons license because I wanted the readers to benefit from the pictures I have on my blog. Almost every post I have has a picture and they’re all from Flickr. I would like to list all of my rights on my blog, so that’s also another reason that I got a creative commons license so they can use my pictures on my site without making money and remixing it to how they like it, but I really didn’t want a Flickr license for these reasons. I’m not going to use Flickr that much.

The Stormy day
The storm nears
The wind awakes
The waves rise
The animals flee
Watch
Lightning strikes
ZAP!
Thunder rumbles
Crack!
The ocean is a ferocious tiger
Then the storm retreats
And becomes as calm as a sleeping kitten

Is there a good time to put pictures of yourself on your blog? I don’t think so. I would rather use an avatar on my blog because random people read my posts and I can never be sure who they are and why they came to visit. I use my first name on my blog so if I put a picture of myself on there as well then people would know what I look like too. If people connect my name to my picture then I wouldn’t be protecting my personal information. When you put a picture on the web it never leaves because search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing take a snap shot of every word, picture, and video. People think they delete it but what they think’s deleted is actually cached on the web.
On facebook you can change your privacy setting so you can have more control over who sees your pictures. The problem is that you don’t have total control because your friends could send it to someone who could download it and remix it. Next thing you know this new picture could be uploaded to the Internet and the picture might not be appropriate.
So next time you are thinking about putting a picture online, think back to this post and remember that you can never truly delete a picture you put on the Internet.

Does my blog get new posts every a week? Not always, but I try. I write about anything! I love being random, but I also write about things that happen to me sometimes or about good ideas that come up in conversations with friends. A good thing about my blog is you never know what I’m going to write about next. It’s always a surprise!
You can also check out my classmates’ blogs to find out why you should visit theirs. They’ve also written a post like this for Blogging Challenge 1.

Quest for gold
The camera is set on the final medalist
The adoring crowd, grinning and clapping
We played and won
And we played and lost
We scored beautiful goals
We were challenged
We were fantastic
The crowd went bonkers
We were unbelievably good
We achieved
we won

To be responsible online I always am careful not to share my phone number, my address or last name. I do this to protect my online identity. I also am careful to not share personal information with strangers. When I am on the Internet I never tell anyone who I am or give away information about myself or people I know. Most people on the internet are honest but some are not. Through our blogging experiences in class I have learned to be careful with personal information. I have learned through blogging how to mark things as SPAM and if there is anything that is inappropriate I show the teacher. That way these things are taken care of. I can use these skills to be internet savvy in the future to protect myself, and friends and family. Internet safety is important to know so that we can be able to enjoy the Internet.

Today I am going to make people smile. The best way to get people to smile is to make them laugh and sometimes this just come easily to me. My friends are ticklish but not as much as I am so try not tickling someone when your extremely ticklish because it might backfire on you . Commenting on how they look can make people feel happy inside. Making silly faces works with younger children especially when you’re baby sitting. Some of my friends laugh at my pain like I when I walked into the wall a couple of times. They start laughing and then sometimes I laugh with them. If we are talking about someone that’s hard to make laugh well you’ll need to find what will make them smile. Sometimes people ask me why I laugh so much and I say because life is funny!
